For job openings in other WEG facilities in the USA, check the list below: WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Duluth, GA. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the company's hourly employee payroll. Provide excellent customer service to employees, managers and supervisors. Work closely with the Human Resources team and other internal stakeholders to ensure that all payroll-related processes and procedures are followed and in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws. Primary Responsibilities: Accurately calculate and process payroll, including taxes, employee benefits, garnishments, sick leave, and other payroll deductions for an employee population of over 350 employees. Maintain payroll records and ensure all data is entered into the payroll system. Ensure legal compliance for federal, state and local laws is maintained. Provide excellent customer service by answering payroll-related questions from employees and managers. Investigate issues, provide solutions and take necessary actions to bring issues to resolution. Keep up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations. Ensure accuracy of PTO accruals and balances. Partner with the HR team to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate and in compliance with ISO guidelines. Provide back-up for Sr. Payroll Specialist, processing the salaried payroll as needed. Act as a primary point of contact for payroll and other third party vendors. Support headcount reporting on a monthly basis. Participate in ad hoc and special projects to improve payroll processes. Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Participation in the APA (American Payroll Association) and CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred. Knowledge / training: Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local labor laws as they relate to payroll processes. Ability to process payroll within the Paylocity and/or UKG systems. Knowledge of payroll garnishment and employee benefit deduction processes. Strong attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Payroll Specialist position, supporting a population of 350+ employees.
