Associate or Bachelor's degree required, with a focus on Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Must be able to read, write, speak, follow, and give written and/or oral directions in English. Training and Experience
Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in retail management, preferably in a boutique or resort retail environment. Must have experience in merchandising, inventory control, buying, and retail operations. Proficiency in POS systems, computers, and phones required. Job Knowledge
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, ideally in a luxury resort or hospitality setting. In-depth knowledge of retail buying trends, merchandising, pricing, discounting, and inventory systems. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills required. Job Summary
This role is responsible for directing and overseeing all retail operations across The Gallery of Shops, The Surf Shop, and The Lodge Shop. The Director of Retail will work closely with retail leadership and staff to maintain a Five-Diamond standard of customer service, lead buying strategies, manage budgets and inventory, and coordinate in-store events and promotions. Physical Abilities
Must have high energy and be able to work and stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 30 pounds above head and use a stepladder to retrieve boxes or merchandise. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts if required. Ensure all team members adhere to grooming and uniform standards. Maintain a safe and clean workplace in accordance with departmental guidelines. Uphold and enforce Five-Diamond service standards in all retail outlets. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and counseling to team members as needed. Attend and lead training sessions, safety courses, and departmental meetings. Create and manage weekly schedules, approve time off, and oversee payroll for retail associates. Monitor labor costs and align staffing levels with business demands. Ensure adequate stock of operating supplies and manage expenses in line with budget. Code and process invoices promptly and accurately. Regularly circulate through all retail outlets to support and lead the sales team. Oversee all aspects of hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews. Address and resolve guest issues in a timely, professional manner. Coordinate group and custom orders with vendors and internal teams. Supervise special orders and shipping procedures according to SOPs. Partner with Director of Finance and Director of Sports Retail on inventory control, audits, and product planning. Help execute creative in-store events, trunk shows, and marketing initiatives. Manage damaged/expired merchandise and process returns to vendors as necessary. Assist with pricing, ticketing, and merchandising as needed. Support the Director of Operations and Senior Director of Design and Experience with various projects and initiatives.
