Beacham Memoria/Freedom Behavioral in Magnolia, MS, is accepting applications for a Psychiatric Program Director. The Program Director/Nurse Manager will oversee a 14-bed senior adult DPU, working under administrative direction and managing in accordance with the program philosophy. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of psychiatric nursing care. The individual provides managerial support to the hospital Director of Nurses by supervising and evaluating all nursing personnel. They contribute to the program, nursing, and hospital through support of nursing and program philosophy and objectives to meet psychiatric program needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collaborating with medical and clinical staff to coordinate and manage medical and psychosocial treatment plans. Providing input in formulating patient care policies, procedures, and nursing care standards for effective treatment planning. Ensuring continuity of nursing care based on clinical nursing needs and individual treatment plans. Supervising all nursing activities related to patient care and setting guidelines for reporting and recording symptoms, reactions, and progress. Administering nursing care as needed to maintain clinical skills, assess patient requirements, and support staff nurses. Attending interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure quality patient care. Monitoring Quality Assurance and identifying areas for improvement through performance measures. Developing patient monitoring measures to handle referral volumes. Ensuring nursing staff complete duties related to high-quality care, including treatment plans, assessments, rounds, and discharge planning. Qualifications: Active nursing license in good standing with the Mississippi Nursing Board. Demonstrated experience in psychiatric/behavioral health is required. Experience with the geriatric population is strongly preferred.
