The PD’s administrative responsibilities include: fiscal planning; program planning and development; ongoing review and analysis of all program activities; ensuring that, in all aspects, the program meets the requirements of the Standards. Educational responsibilities include continuous curriculum development and review as well as teaching. The PD must work with the DCE to ensure that clinical education for program students is coordinated with didactic and laboratory activities and is sufficient to meet program outcomes required by the Standards.**Job Responsibilities:**50% Organize and assure program effectiveness; conduct on-going program review and assessment; evaluate outcome measurements and effectiveness of the program; timely and periodic communication with officers of the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) as needed (substantive changes, annual report, etc); keep the Dean of the Division of Health Sciences and Business Technology apprised of problems pertaining to the overall operation of the Program that may potentially cause concern to CoARC.15% Participate in continued development and budget planning; accept committee assignments, either departmental or university, and contribute to the welfare of the institution; assist in the recruitment of qualified students and faculty.10% In cooperation with the DCE and the Medical Director, the Program Director shall ensure that non-clinical units of instruction are properly coordinated and that all students receive didactic and laboratory instruction sufficient to ensure adequate background for entry into practice as a respiratory therapist. Maintain academic records on all students enrolled in the clinical phase of the Program; assure that appropriate and relevant student, faculty, and clinical agency evaluations and surveys are developed and utilized.10% Provide leadership for respiratory care faculty and students by developing
and participating in activities that promote the image and involvement of
the Respiratory Care profession.10% Conduct regular faculty meetings along with the communities of interest while maintaining documentation; evaluate all Respiratory Care faculty members on a regular basis.5% Other duties as assigned.**Minimum Qualifications:**Bachelor's Degree must be awarded by an institution that is accredited by USDE-recognized institutional accrediting body.**Years of Experience:**4 years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care
2 years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.**Preferred Qualifications:**Master's Degree must be awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting body.**Years of Experience:**8 + (see Specific Experience for details)10 years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (5) years in clinical respiratory care
