Overview
Foundation Senior Accountant and Analyst is responsible for performing financial operations in accordance with established policies and practices, including examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records for the supported Foundations and Alumni Association. Research, analyze and implement accounting pronouncements and other best practices that impact financial processes under the supervision of the Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting/CFO. Responsibilities
Perform financial operations for the Foundations and Alumni Association in line with established policies and practices, including examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records. Research, analyze, and implement accounting pronouncements and best practices that impact financial processes under supervision. Ensure accuracy of financial data and generate relevant financial reports to support decision-making. Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Comprehensive knowledge in using automated financial systems, particularly for report writing and analyzing accounting records. Ability to identify complex problems, review information, develop options, and implement solutions. Knowledge of commercial property accounting and experience with fund/non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Effective customer service and problem-resolution skills when servicing diverse customers; strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt accounting principles to a variety of fiscal needs and to assemble, analyze, and research complex financial data to develop reports. Demonstrated ability to reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables, and other financial transactions; experience reviewing complex financial data for accuracy. Ability to exercise judgment and interpret administrative policies and procedures; proficiency with PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel) to record, reconcile, monitor, and report data. Extensive knowledge of non-profit organizations and fund accounting; familiarity with Yardi Voyager or similar commercial property accounting software is a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, advanced formulas); CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Education/Experience
Considerable experience in accounting or a related field. Considerable experience with review of financial transactions and with complex financial data reporting and analysis. Considerable experience with accounting systems and report writing. Other Requirements
Hybrid/telework schedule available with required approval; standard hours 8:00a–5:00p, Monday–Friday. Salary commensurate with education and experience. The final candidate must complete a criminal history check. Additional Information
