What You’ll Do The Senior Loan Fraud Investigator will play a critical role in detecting, preventing, and investigating fraudulent activity related to loan products by leading complex investigations, developing strategic fraud mitigation solutions, and guiding others in fraud risk analysis. This position will partner closely with consumer, business, and commercial lending leadership to ensure strategic alignment and promote proactive information sharing related to fraud risks and mitigation strategies. It requires a strong grasp of risk-related principles, advanced investigative skills, and a collaborative mindset. The Senior Loan Fraud Investigator is responsible for managing high-impact cases, mentoring junior staff, contributing to loan fraud prevention policies, and supporting departmental or organizational initiatives. The role bridges investigative excellence with strategic insight to mitigate fraud across all lending channels while ensuring compliance and protecting the member experience.
Assets You Will Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Finance or a related field.
5+ years in fraud investigations, loss mitigation, financial crimes or risk management required preferably in lending.
Advanced understanding of lending banking practices, policies, regulations and law enforcement practices.
Experience with Verafin, Velocity, DNA, SentiLink and/or PreciseID a plus.
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI) or comparable certification is required.
Attention to Detail, Collaborative, Critical Thinking, Decision Making, Delegation, Fraud Prevention, Interpersonal, Lending Product Knowledge (Consumer, Business, Commercial), Problem Solving, Verbal and Written Communication, Relationship Building, Prioritization.
The estimated salary for this role is $72,934 - $87,522 annually.
