Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have an engineering mindset, have the ability and willingness to troubleshoot complex network problems, seeking to understand virtualized design elements in a dynamic environment

U.S. citizenship and current DOD-TS or TS/SCI Security Clearance is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and minimum of 5 years of related work experience

Experience with Data Center LAN and WAN design, implementation, diagnostics, performance, and management

Ability to understand system data flows internal and external to the overall system boundary

Experience with Linux system administration / VMware

Experience with configuring cloud networking in AWS, security groups

Hands on experience scripting skills (i.e PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.)

Responsibilities

The environments are a mix of physical and virtualized servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware, providing the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset

This will include a mixture of hands-on keyboard Network Engineering work as well as documentation and baseline control

Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with Network design, development, implementation, and support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Operating System for the project

Support software deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program need for the effort

Design, implement, generate code through scripting tools, test, document, and maintain the system

Assist with development of build/test and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across on-premise computing environments

Assist engineers with RHEL based tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices
