Controller – Project-Based Company – Greater Los Angeles Area
Compensation: ~$170K base + bonus potential
Schedule: Primarily on-site, Monday–Friday (some flexibility available)
About the Opportunity A growing, private-equity-backed coinstruction company in the Greater Los Angeles area is seeking a
Controller
to lead its finance and accounting function. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct visibility to senior decision-makers and investors. The company operates in a
project-based, service-driven environment
and is looking for someone who can elevate financial operations as it enters its next stage of growth.
What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee all core accounting and finance functions, including AR, AP, payroll, and reporting.
Drive the month-end close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reports.
Manage forecasting, budgeting, and cashflow planning to support business growth.
Implement and refine
percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
and job-costing processes.
Strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and improve financial systems.
Provide financial insights and analysis to guide operational and strategic decisions.
Partner closely with leadership and private equity stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
CPA or equivalent background strongly preferred.
Proven experience as a
Controller
or senior accounting leader in a
project-based, manufacturing, construction, or services
business.
Strong understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition, and cashflow forecasting.
Experience improving processes, implementing systems, and building scalable financial functions.
Ability to work hands-on while also serving as a strategic partner to leadership.
Stable career history and experience in a private-equity-backed environment are pluses.
