is seeking a Ship Structural Specialist to work with liquified gas membrane containment systems as part of our Global Technical Support Office. The successful candidate will be based at our Southampton office, with flexible working arrangements available. What we’re looking for
This role involves working on new-build and existing ship projects, supporting local and global clients and site surveyors, and undertaking design appraisal, design support work, and answering technical queries. You will have access to training courses and professional development opportunities to develop your knowledge and expertise. A Specialist or Senior Specialist position may be offered, depending on the level of experience. What we offer you

Working as a technical member of the Specialized Ship Structures team, carrying out design appraisal, independent calculations, and consultancy against Class Rules and statutory codes. Contributing ideas and creative solutions for structural problems, providing technical advice to internal and external clients, and contributing to Technology and Rule Development Projects. Managing plan approval projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and generating new opportunities. What you bring
A degree in naval architecture, structural engineering, or equivalent, with experience in ship structural design and the application of Class Rules. Knowledge of regulatory bodies, liquefied gas ships, and their containment systems, as well as proficiency in English and the ability to write technical reports. Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. About us
