New York, New York What you’ll do as a Solutions Engineer, Strategic Accounts
The Solution Engineering organization is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and adoption roadmap for our customers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Solution Engineering, the Strategic Accounts Solutions Engineer is a senior-level, customer-facing technologist within the Cloudflare Solutions Engineering team. You have strong experience in large account pre-sales management and excellent verbal and written communications skills suited for executive-level engagement. You will speak about Cloudflare’s vision with C-level customer executives and build champions within the customer’s technology ranks to drive opportunities and create a revenue pipeline. You will work within a high-profile pursuit team dedicated to certain strategic accounts, collaborating with the strategic account executives attached to these accounts. Responsibilities
Build and maintain long-term technical relationships with technical buyers at assigned accounts, becoming a trusted advisor. Understand business-critical issues and develop solution designs to validate Cloudflare as part of the customer’s infrastructure, coordinating with Cloudflare colleagues through the sales and procurement cycle. Identify and drive technical conversations across lines of business to uncover new revenue opportunities and demonstrate value. Help customers define security and network transformation strategies and architect necessary controls aligned with Cloudflare products. Be the voice of the customer internally, engaging with Product and Engineering to meet customer needs. Represent and evangelize Cloudflare at industry events with thought leadership and expertise. Polished communication and executive presentation skills for a broad range of stakeholders. Relationship-building with engineers and senior executives in large accounts; ability to build consensus on security solutions. Experience managing technical sales within large accounts and developing champion-style relationships. Drive technical wins and assist with technical validation. Deep understanding of core industry components of Cloudflare solutions, including: Internet security technologies (DDoS, Firewalls, TLS, VPN, DLP) Networking (TCP/UDP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, Global Traffic Management) HTTP technologies (WAF/CDN, secure web gateway, serverless applications) Zero-trust network access (ZTNA & SASE), identity management Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Regulatory requirements (FedRAMP, GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC-2, ISO/IEC) Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. Maryland-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $208,000 - $254,000. New York City, New Jersey and Washington D.C.-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $211,000 - $254,000. This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan. The estimated annual salary range includes the on-target incentive compensation that may be attained in this role under the Sales Compensation Plan. Equity
