YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of TCEQ’s Office of Water, you would contribute to ensuring clean and available water and protecting Texas’ water resources. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Water Supply Division. HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Participate in development, review, maintenance and management of databases/methods for reporting Public Drinking Water data for the Water Supply Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Analyze, design, modify, and develop reports, queries, and migrations for complicated data sets using various databases, software tools, and network connections as needed. Develop and implement improved software maintenance and development processes, including requirements gathering, configuration management, testing, quality assurance, peer review, and technical solutions. Coordinate data related projects and requests with agency staff, track time and effort on each project, and keep all documentation current. Identify potential risks and prepare contingency plans. Identify, develop, and implement methods to share data with other agency applications and participate in the development and implementation of the Division’s databases of record. Assist with defining the goals of applications and devise flowcharts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of the programs. Monitor the interface of systems, subsystems, and software applications. Qualifications

KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience with APIs (including JSON, XML) and cloud-based applications. Experience developing queries and reports using SQL. Experience developing and implementing report/query development processes (requirements gathering, configuration management, testing, quality assurance, peer review, technical solutions, etc.). REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Three years of full-time experience in systems administration, business process analysis and modeling, application development, or system and application design. OR a master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field. OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field plus one year of required experience. OR completion of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field plus two years of the required experience. OR Career Ladder Progression: One year of full-time TCEQ experience as a Systems Analyst II. Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Systems Analyst III series. Work Schedule Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Water Supply Division.
