Independently develop and evaluate flavor systems for application and evaluation of flavors using proprietary technologies in support of customers and McCormick. Interface with customers, R&D teams, and assist in responding to specific project requests. Assist and leverage development of new flavors/ingredients and new methodologies; contribute to technically driven business development activities in the Healthcare Flavor applications area. Lead flavor applications and prototype development in healthcare and confectionery products; provide excellent flavor applications support for industrial customers. Facilitate complex projects, including planning and leading cross-functional project teams, defining and assessing project requirements, and designing and managing experiments. Build competency within the healthcare & confectionery Flavor Applications area. Plan and lead project teams, defining and assessing project requirements, and managing experiments. Investigate and assess new ingredients and technologies. Provide internal expert support on projects performed in other groups, with outside consultants, and/or with vendors. Support commercialization of products and troubleshoot manufacturing processes. Provide technical support for formulations to Operations and Quality functions. Interface and communicate project status with customers and the commercial team. Supervise and instruct lower-level employees. Qualifications
BSc in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field 5–10 years’ experience in the food and/or flavor industry, including: At least 3 years in healthcare or confectionery Flavor applications in a flavor house and/or At least 3 years in healthcare or confectionery Product Development within a consumer products company Strong experience with healthcare and/or confectionery flavor delivery systems, ingredients, and flavors Ability to interpret data and solve complex problems with incomplete information Ability to manage risk in making critical decisions Project management and ability to interact, seek advice, teach, influence, and negotiate Ability to influence across the organization Ability to make presentations on technical topics and R&D capabilities In-depth understanding of ingredients and technology and their impact on product taste and functionality Knowledge of food ingredients, manufacturing processes, quality assurance programs, and food regulations Proficiency in product development and commercialization across diverse finished product categories Intellectual curiosity, flexibility, aptitude for complexity, and ability to operate in ambiguous environments Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $72,930 to $127,640. Compensation will be determined based on location, skills, education, and experience. Eligible for McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
