Our Spanish language program aims to foster the development of a strong foundation for foreign-language acquisition while providing effective, engaging instruction at the elementary and middle school levels. Experienced Spanish Language Teacher Location:
Elementary/middle school in Capitol Hill, located a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol. Hours
Monday:
8:00 AM – 1:30 PM with preparation time 11:33–12:45 PM; 5 classes of 42 minutes each. Tuesday:
8:00 AM – 11:30 AM; 4 classes of 42 minutes each. Wednesday:
9:30 AM – 1:30 PM with preparation time 11:33–12:45 PM; 3 classes of 42 minutes each. Thursday:
8:00 AM – 11:30 AM; 4 classes of 42 minutes each. Compensation:
$35/hour plus 2 hours of paid prep time each week. Key responsibilities
Teaching Spanish language courses to students at the elementary and middle school levels (pre-K4 to 8th grade). CLS’s curriculum must be strictly followed. The selected teacher will be required to plan challenging and engaging lessons and experiences designed to help students achieve content and curriculum standards. Ensure that lessons have multiple entry points and support structures, so that children with different abilities and learning styles are successful. Maintaining accurate records of student progress and performance. Maintaining regular communication with parents and CLS office. Minimum qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Second Language Acquisition or Spanish Language. Two years of experience teaching Spanish language courses at the elementary and middle school levels with a strong record of student achievement. Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English. Solid subject matter knowledge and demonstrated knowledge of the content and the methods of teaching Spanish. Must be committed and able to teach in a full-immersion environment with minimum use of English. Additional requirements
Must be available for school events and training August 18 and 25, 2025. Must be available for the first day of classes August 26, 2025 until the last day of classes June 12, 2026. Must hold a US work authorization. Calendar
