Food Safety Program Manager
in Phoenix, AZ. If you have experience with Food Safety Programs and are capable of supporting the development, adherence, and improvement of food safety policies, trainings, and procedures, this is an excellent opportunity for you! Our Opportunity:
You will support the growth of our Fulfillment Network by partnering with Site Operations, Inventory Control, Learning, Quality, and Facility teams to manage food safety programs. This includes implementing, maintaining, and improving food safety protocols, providing technical leadership on pest control, sanitation, good distribution practices, temperature control, and compliance with Title 21 of the CFR. You will also perform risk assessments and guide corrective actions. What you'll do:
Supervise food safety programs across 4-5 fulfillment centers. Audit fulfillment centers regularly and provide feedback to site leadership. Initiate and propose corrective actions. Develop and coordinate training for food safety initiatives. Collaborate with Quality and Supply Chain teams to address customer feedback. Mentor teams on pest exclusion, sanitation, and temperature control. Evaluate equipment and activities against risk assessments and policies. Analyze data to improve programs and policies. What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Safety, Food Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field. At least 5 years managing Food Safety Programs in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing. Qualified Individual status per FDA regulations, with comprehensive knowledge of 21 CFR parts 502, 117, and 1. Experience with risk assessments, data analysis, and corrective measures. Proficiency with data management software (Excel, Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, SQL). Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure and lead change across multiple sites. Willing to travel up to 50%. Chewy is committed to diversity and inclusion.
