Our Profile In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, approximately 95 km west of Georgetown. Kitchen Local Chef The Local Chef plays a key role in preparing high-quality meals for site personnel, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive team culture. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, focusing on locally-inspired cuisine. Plan and execute daily menus in collaboration with the kitchen team. Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality. Source and use fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. Monitor kitchen inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, if applicable. Innovate new menu items and seasonal offerings. Collaborate with front-of-house staff for seamless service. Qualifications/Skills and Experience Prior experience working in a large-scale kitchen, mine camp, or catering environment is an asset. Strong knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation practices. Food handling certificate is required. Additional food handling certificates are considered an asset. Working Conditions Position based at the OKO Project site. Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days off. Transport, accommodations, and meals are provided on site. Compensation Package 1-year contract during the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is operational.
