ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PSYCHOLOGY AND LAW PSYCHOLOGY PHD or JD/PHD The Department of Psychology at John Jay College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, with research interests at the intersection between Law and Psychology (e.g., Cognitive, Developmental, Social, Neuroscience), to begin Fall 2026. We seek candidates with a research interest in confessions and/or interrogations. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring diverse student populations, maintain an active research and publication agenda, pursue external funding, and participate actively in service. The department will expect the candidate to provide research mentorship to PhD students in CUNY’s Psychology and Law PhD program, master’s students in the Forensic Psychology master’s program, and undergraduate Forensic Psychology majors. Faculty will perform teaching, research, and advising duties in their area(s) of expertise and share responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. Candidates must have a PhD, JD/PhD, or equivalent in area(s) of expertise by August 2026. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to teach effectively, demonstrate potential for scholarship or achievement, and cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Compensation
$57,252 - $109,025. Salary commensurate with education and credentials. CUNY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
