Overview
Contract Specialist (Onsite – Andrews Air Force Base, MD). Clearance Required: T1 Public Trust.
We are seeking two experienced Senior Contract Specialists to support the 316th Contracting Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base. These roles require cradle-to-grave acquisition support, including pre-award, award, and post-award contracting activities in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and agency policies.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to mission-critical acquisition and contracting functions in a high-impact DoD environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with market research, solicitation drafting, proposal evaluations, contract awards, administration, and closeout
Support acquisition planning and documentation development (RFPs, SOWs, PWSs)
Contribute to source selection processes including LPTA and Best Value Trade-Off evaluations
Draft acquisition artifacts such as ASP briefings, acquisition plans, and clearance documents under supervision
Participate in Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs) and coordinate with Mission Partners
Conduct basic price and cost analysis to support procurement decisions
Maintain accurate and compliant contract files and document repositories
Update contract trackers using MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Assist in facilitating COR appointments, training tracking, and certification updates
Support delivery of acquisition training briefings to internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Active T1 Public Trust
Minimum of 5 years of federal or DoD contracting experience, including cradle-to-grave acquisition support
Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DFARS
Bachelor’s Degree with 24 business credit hours from an accredited institution
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
FAC-C or DAWIA Contracting Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Air Force or other DoD agencies in a contracting role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively in a team-based government environment
Work Schedule & Environment Onsite at Andrews Air Force Base, Monday through Friday
Core hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (+/- 1.5 hour flex)
Federal holidays off; occasional need to adjust based on mission needs
