JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship will be responsible for leading our congregation in worship and providing ministry outlets for those interested in music. Additionally, this position will assist with pastoral ministry beyond leading worship. The candidate’s various gifts/skills will be considered in deciding how to help meet our leadership needs (ex.: discipleship, administration, or senior adult ministry). This position will report to the Senior Pastor. The nature of the position requires weekend and evening hours.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Pastor and Church Staff to plan and lead worship services
Lead congregational singing and coordinate choirs, ensembles, praise bands, and special musical presentations, including an annual Christmas presentation
Organize and oversee all aspects of the music ministry, including training and supervising the media team for audio and visual needs
Prepare and manage worship ministry budget
Assist in pastoral duties such as: pulpit fill-in, conducting funerals, and hospital visitations as needed
Participate in outreach and discipleship efforts to grow the church spiritually and expand its ministry impact
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
Spiritually mature Christian with a commitment to personal growth
Passion for worship and heart for ministry
Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills
Musically trained, with experience in leading congregational worship
Willingness to serve and engage with church members and the community
Prioritization of biblical unity for the staff and church
Education:
Bachelor’s or seminary degree in music preferred, with a willingness to seek further training
Active member in good standing of a Southern Baptist congregation and alignment with the theological practices of the Southern Baptist Convention
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a worship leader in a Southern Baptist church preferred
Experience in mentoring worship leaders and organizing ministry programs
