is seeking a
Principal Test & Repair Engineer
to join our
Life Cycle Sustainment Operations
group located in
Elkridge, MD . In this role, you will support the
Repair and Testing Operations of Airborne Radars
and Test Sets using Radio Frequency
(RF)
engineering principles to support analysis and process support for legacy and emerging technologies. This position is very hands-on, working with the commodities and test sets while interfacing with vendors, in-house prime mission equipment engineering, test design mechanical/electrical engineering as well as Purchasing, Operations, and Manufacturing functional groups. What You’ll Get to Do: Troubleshooting and performance evaluation of older test sets; Test set modification with documentation
Design and integration of new test sets
Unit under test evaluations
Documenting test procedures
Effectively interface with various internal and external customers as well as functional groups including vendors, engineering, purchasing, operations, program offices, and manufacturing
Generate technical reports, track, and report on performance
Estimate work efforts (hours and schedule) and other ongoing tasks in support of an operational system
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related technical field with 5 years of relevant experience in a test and repair environment, or a Master's with 3 years relevant experience in a test and repair environment; 9+ years of relevant experience in a test and repair environment may be considered in lieu of a degree
Strong technical (electrical and software) background with proven success with testing RF circuitry and troubleshooting to the component level by following schematics
Proficiency in MS Office is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications: Active U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance or higher
Prior knowledge of the following program languages: (C++ / LabWindows / CVI)
Prior experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning/ Manufacturing Execution tool
Familiarization with a wide variety of systems including radars
