Overview The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Tulane University invites applications for a full-time

Electrical Engineering Professor of Practice

position, beginning fall of 2026. We seek a dynamic educator and practitioner who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and preparing the next generation of engineers for impactful careers in industry and academia. Our department integrates fundamental physics with core engineering disciplines and is working to grow its electrical engineering programs, including a minor and a master’s degree. These EE programs sit alongside our established Engineering Physics ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree and Materials Physics & Engineering PhD degree. As a member of the AAU, Tulane is committed to research and education at the highest levels.

Responsibilities The Professor of Practice (PoP) is a non-tenured full-time academic year (nine-month) teaching position (3,3 load) with a renewable 3-year appointment. Responsibilities include teaching and mentorship of students, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting the growth of electrical engineering programs. Senior PoP faculty serve renewable 5-year terms.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field.

Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship.

Postdoctoral or industry experience is preferred.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in communications, signal processing, power systems, and embedded/computer systems.
