Part-time, 24 hours; Evening shift; Rotating weekend and holiday coverage Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Radiologist and according to established procedures, operates diagnostic X-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic films per Radiologist specifications. Performs diagnostic procedures including fluoroscopy and invasive exams as required, portable imaging in NICU, Pedi, OR, ICU, ER; outpatient X-rays. May perform mobile and surgical procedures to assist in patient diagnosis, and fluoroscopic procedures for specialized diagnostics and treatment planning (e.g., defecography, barium enema, myelography, GI exams). Responds to emergencies and assists with contrast reactions following department, clinic, and hospital policies. May float to other Baystate Health locations to support patient care and staffing needs. Job Responsibilities Demonstrates excellent customer service and maintains confidentiality while promoting positive inter/intradepartmental communications.

Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of imaging equipment in the area of specialty.

Demonstrates proficiency with CR, DR, PACS and modality-specific equipment.

Properly identifies patient information using two identifiers and complies with safety standards and ARRT Code of Ethics; performs routine, specialized, emergency, and urgent imaging procedures; provides high-quality exams.

Maintains operational communication with supervisor/manager; follows through with assigned tasks.

Works as a member of the health care team with physicians, nurses, and other professionals in diagnostic testing.

Operates and maintains exam rooms and equipment, conducts quality checks, stocks supplies, and maintains a clean, safe work environment.

Recognizes examination findings that require immediate clinical response and notifies the radiologist; ensures timely transfer of images to PACS.

Ensures compliance with JC, MQSA, ACR regulations and DPH/CMS requirements; participates in quality assurance activities.

Produces accurate, high-quality exams with proper technique, positioning, and anatomy visualization; provides patient instruction to optimize results.

Maintains current knowledge and skills to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Presents a professional and courteous demeanor to patients and customers at all times.

Attends in-service and training events to enhance clinical skills as documented.

Offers suggestions for improvements within departmental policies and procedures to the supervisor.

Accurately inputs data into modality-specific computer systems.

Assists in training technologists, residents, and students when assigned; demonstrates willingness to learn new procedures.

Adheres to strict safety standards to protect patients, families, staff, and visitors; maintains a hazard-free environment.

Uses time efficiently by coordinating patients and procedures to maximize productivity, as observed by the supervisor.

Assists the radiologist in sterile procedures as dictated by modality.

Observes radiation safety procedures; wears radiation monitoring as required.

Ability to work independently in all areas.

Minimum Requirements MA RT license and ARRT Registry

Basic Life Support – American Heart Association

Preferred Work Experience Hospital experience

Skills and Competencies Ability to work with computer applications

Good verbal and written communication

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
