Position Overview
The PRN SUD Counselor is a part-time position responsible for assisting with group facilitation in the Intensive Outpatient Program and Continuing Recovery Program. The role includes providing backup case management and crisis intervention, supporting clinical record reviews, and assisting resident monitors with rule enforcement and medication monitoring. Key Responsibilities
Provide secondary case management and crisis intervention services to program participants. Facilitate outpatient and intensive outpatient group counseling sessions. Accurately record all service activities in the Y-Haven Electronic Medical Record system. Participate in team meetings, quality assurance meetings, trainings, and coordination meetings as needed. Coordinate with the Clinical Director on critical clinical issues. Follow mandated child abuse and neglect reporting procedures, including completing reports, contacting child protective services, and notifying supervisors and relevant departments. Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate and thorough client records in the AWARDS electronic health record system. Assist in generating service reports and data analysis. Programmatic Responsibilities
Facilitate addiction therapy groups as needed. Monitor medication self-administration for residents when required. Provide direct clinical services, aiming for 50% of each workday. Engage positively with clients, volunteers, and staff, embodying YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Adhere to all policies and safety procedures. Participate in YMCA events and fundraising activities. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Obtain necessary trainings and certifications. Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field required. Extensive knowledge of issues affecting homeless populations, chemical dependency, and mental health is necessary. Preferably 3+ years of experience in social services, including intake, screening, and assessment. Certifications:
LCDCIII, LPC, or LSW required. CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire. Work Environment & Physical Demands
Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and staff, sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, and lift/move up to 25 lbs. Ability to work in a moderate to noisy environment is required. About YMCA of Greater Cleveland
