OPEN JOB: Sr Lead Application Engineer - Flexible Packaging
LOCATION: Bridgewater, New Jersey (30-50% travel). Relocation assistance available.
SALARY: $120,000 to $150,000

This position is with our client’s Adhesive Technologies business unit – where they empower our people to transform industries and provide their customers with a competitive advantage through adhesives, sealants and functional coatings.
What you’ll do
This laboratory-based position is focused on meeting the technical needs of our flexible packaging customers with innovation and technology pipeline in conjunction with our BD team.
Extensive knowledge and experience within the flexible packaging from formulation to application of adhesive and coatings.
Works closely with Business Development and Product Development to meet the technical needs for markets within our flexible packaging industry.
Connect with external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, research institutes) to support development initiatives.
Putting forth and testing ideas that support proliferation of breakthrough technologies.
Is the recognized expert in industry trade associations, develops new-to-the-world data/white papers to promote the company's expertise externally.
Establishes and leverages external networks and partnerships (research/suppliers/OEM/boards/industry).
Develops and manages key innovation/application projects. Understand the latest flexible packaging technologies.
Assists running pilot scale lamination and coating equipment to validate new innovative ideas and scale up to customer sites.
Testing and market introductions of new products and new technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
10 plus years of flexible packaging industry experience either in application engineering or product development.
Application methods/development.
30-50% travel requirement.
Technical Writing: Ability to create clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation, manuals, and process guides for technical and non-technical audiences.
Reporting: Proficient in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data-driven reports to support decision-making and performance tracking.
Presenting: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
