Senior Human Resources Generalist at Beckwood Press Company
What You’ll Be Doing The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the operational and compliance functions of Human Resources, ensuring the company's policies and procedures align with legal standards and support a productive workforce. This role will focus on employee relations, HR compliance, benefits administration, and policy enforcement to maintain an efficient and legally compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance:
Under guidance from the Director of HR, ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other labor laws) through completion of compliance related tasks.
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
Complete HR audits and reporting, including maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain all confidential documents, records, and employee files.
Employee Relations & Performance Management:
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
Support managers in disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
Consult HR leadership to offer guidance and training to managers on performance management best practices.
Benefits & Compensation Administration:
Manage benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave administration.
Process payroll and ensure accurate compensation, deductions, and compliance with wage laws.
Analyze compensation structures to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
HR Systems & Reporting:
Oversee HRIS system management, employee recordkeeping, and data integrity.
Generate HR reports and analytics to support workforce planning and decision-making.
Workforce Policies & Safety:
Collaborate with safety teams to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Develop and implement policies related to workplace safety, attendance, and conduct.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
4+ years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
Knowledge and understanding of employment laws, HR compliance, and employee relations best practices.
Experience managing HR operations, including payroll, benefits, and performance management.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
