This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
The Department of Support Services, Business Services Division, is searching for a candidate to fill a part-time Business Officer position. Incumbents perform professional level work in providing fiscal and administrative management support. Positions assigned to the Business Services Division may be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and reviewing items for the Board of Commissioners agenda and County Administrator approvals.
Essential Duties
Strong attention to detail, prioritization skills, initiative, and ability to effectively work both independently and as a member of a team
Completing work, providing any necessary feedback, and processing approvals
Completing fiscal activities in compliance with established policies and procedures
Processing and reviewing a variety of transactions involving purchase orders, accounts receivables, invoices, accounts payable, contracts, and/or other related information while monitoring compliance with established policies and procedures
Researching, interpreting, updating, and maintaining a variety of records, databases, reports, and logs
Managing various audit functions such as payables, receivables, vendor payments, contract renewals, updating and initiating contract routing and completing recommendation letters
Position requires effective and professional communication (both written and verbal) with other members of the Support Services Department, external departments, and vendors
Developing training documents, guides, and presentation materials
Scanning, copying, and other similar functions
Public Speaking Duties
Employee will be required to perform public speaking functions typically for internal purposes such as training or presentations.
Other Job Requirements/Information
This position requires reliable transportation, as it involves regular travel between two work locations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field and
Two (2) years of professional level accounting experience or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
Financial experience including bookkeeping, payables, receivables, cash management, contracts, purchasing, customer service
