Overview
The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment at Grand Rapids Chair Company, with a strong focus on recruiting, onboarding, and employee support. This onsite role partners closely with production leadership to understand staffing needs, fill critical roles, and ensure a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for new hires. The HR Generalist is a key resource for all employees, helping to maintain a positive and productive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with company policies, benefits, and employment regulations. This position is highly visible on the production floor and plays a critical role in supporting employee engagement, retention, and workforce stability. Benefits
Dog-friendly office environment! Hours are onsite M-F from 7am - 3:30pm Essential Functions
Manage talent acquisition and onboarding processes for production employees. Serves as the HR help desk for production team members and leaders. Assist with payroll processing. Track attendance and create attendance status notices to employees. Maintain employee data, integrity, and confidentiality of Human Resource systems and files. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management. Support safety program and record keeping as directed by HR leadership. Follow all ethical, HR, safety, and security policies and procedures, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Compile data and creates reports for key HR metrics. Support efforts to always improve the employee experience. Support HR leadership in developing and facilitating effective communications to all team members. Plan, coordinate and implement activities that create an inclusive environment. Support company events and celebrations through participation in team planning, sending invites, tracking attendees, coordinating with vendors and caterers. Serve as backup for other team members as needed. All other duties as assigned. Seniority level
