Family Engagement Representative (Spanish Language) (Official Title: Parent Education Support Assistant- Spanish Language)

assists various central District programs by disseminating educational program information to parents and students. Providing parents and students with education program information and referring parents and students who need further assistance to appropriate certificated advisors. Participating in discussions and workshops, and presenting approved central District program information to parents and students. Participating in community outreach for program-specific events. Collaborating and meeting with other school personnel to coordinate services for parents and providing additional program-specific resources. Maintaining communication and effective relationships with parents, school and central district staff, and partner organizations. Attending professional development trainings and meetings to stay informed on central District program updates. Creating outreach materials such as flyers, posters, and information briefs. NOTE:

Education Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency. Experience 80 hours of paid experience or verifiable volunteer experience in a parent or community center of a public school or other parent/community involvement program. Special A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of California and the use of a motor vehicle, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation. Desirable Qualifications

Ideal candidates for the Family Engagement Representative (Spanish Language) (Official Title: Parent Education Support Assistant- Spanish Language) will possess the following: The ability to work effectively with employees, students, and the public. The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The ability to speak and write the English language and Spanish language. Knowledge of pertinent issues affecting local schools. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office Suite programs. Knowledge of community attitudes, desires, and the needs of the locality to which assigned. Employment Selection Process

The employment selection process for Family Engagement Representative (Spanish Language) consists of completion of a District Verification Form to verify 80 hours of paid or verifiable volunteer experience in a parent or community center of a public school or other parent/community involvement program, a scored questionnaire, and other test parts as needed. You must also pass the Spanish Bilingual language assessment administered by the District. The District Verification form will be emailed to you separately and you must submit the completed form before the deadline provided. Testing Process

Candidates who meet the entrance qualifications and are successful on the scored questionnaire will be invited to the Spanish Bilingual written and oral language assessment. You will be contacted individually with testing date appointments and you must pass the Spanish Bilingual language assessment to be added to the Eligibility List. You will not receive your final results if you do not submit the 80 hour notification form, your HS diploma or equivalent, and pass the Spanish Bilingual language assessment. You will be invited to take these assessments online and testing will be conducted remotely and all applications will be required to submit a Candidate Confidentiality Form prior to testing. Failure to submit these forms before the given deadline will result in the withdrawal of your application from the selection process. Your test scores from these assessments will be banked and used for final calculation. You must receive PASSING SCORES on all TEST MODULES, for all the assessments, to remain in the selection process. Candidates who receive a failing score on any test module will NOT be eligible to move forward in the selection process. If you are successful on all the assessments and meet the minimum education and experience requirement, you will be added to the eligibility list provided you submit necessary documentation when requested during the recruitment process.
