Run the full biweekly payroll for 760+ employees—exempt, non-exempt, union, non-union, across multiple states. Decode and understand four unique CBAs to ensure accurate paychecks. Handle all behind-the-scenes payroll actions: benefit deductions, payroll taxes, garnishments, union dues, non-union 401(k) contributions. Work with supervisors on timecard corrections. Take charge of special payments and off-cycle payrolls. Be the go-to payroll resource for employee questions and support. Keep detailed records on garnishments and levies. Partner with the accounting team to reconcile payroll general ledger accounts with precision. Audit year-end W-2s and maintain compliance. Conduct regular payroll audits and reconciliations to keep data accurate. What Makes You A Great Fit
Solid understanding of payroll and tax laws across WA, OR, ID, and MT. Integrity, ethics, and reliability. Document and update SOPs; stay current on payroll laws and best practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Consistent attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Natural problem-solver who finds solutions. Clear and confident written and verbal communication. Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and team-first mindset. Education, Experience, & Certifications
3+ years of hands-on payroll processing for 250+ employees per cycle in a dynamic environment (union and non-union, exempt and non-exempt). CPP or FPC preferred, or actively working toward one; certification required within the first year. Current CPP with payroll processing experience for 250+ employees even without extensive years of experience may apply. A degree in Human Resources or related field (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) preferred. Proficiency with payroll software and SAAS-based HRIS; bonus if you’ve worked with Paylocity. Strong understanding of ledger entries and payment processing. Experience with Union Health & Welfare benefits plans is a plus. Salary range: $25.00–$30.00 hourly, with pay based on factors including education, experience, certifications, location, and business needs.
