IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a

Contract Surety Senior Underwriter

located in our Spring, Texas location. This role involves daily interaction with agents regarding new and existing accounts, including gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information to make recommendations or decisions to the Regional Manager. The position offers a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely Thursday and Friday. Responsibilities

Review initial submissions and obtain additional information as needed. Set up and maintain financial backer files, monitor liability, and update account information. Report significant developments immediately to the manager. Compose and update narratives for new accounts and submit recommendations. Update accounts in the database with current financial information. Analyze bond submissions, determine appropriate rates, and recommend actions. Evaluate new bond requirements and discuss high-risk cases with the manager. Maintain bond files with annual updates and request necessary information. Ensure proper indemnity and collateral are secured for bonds. Review requests to close bonds or release collateral, and recommend actions. Maintain knowledge of bond underwriting requirements and hazards. Check agent bond logs periodically. Perform reference checks and review credit reports. Analyze financial statements for key components and ratios. Assess additional measures to protect the surety, such as indemnity agreements or collateral. Evaluate bond requests with unusual hazards and discuss with the supervisor. Keep account documentation current for informed decision-making. Communicate decisions clearly and promptly to the Regional Manager. Engage with agents about new opportunities and expanding presence. Meet premium targets set by the Regional Manager. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications:

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or related field with at least 4 years of bond underwriting experience, or 8 years of relevant experience. Strong marketing skills and ability to develop new business. Proficiency in quantitative and financial analysis. Excellent math skills, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Customer service orientation and integrity. Computer literacy, including spreadsheets and internet-based programs. Valid driver’s license. Authorization to work in the U.S. without future VISA sponsorship. Preferred to Have:
