Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns, along with related estimated and extension payments.
Compile and maintain supporting schedules for tax calculations, including fixed asset depreciation, amortization, and state apportionment factors.
Partner with internal teams to gather data and ensure accuracy of tax inputs for both compliance and reporting.
Contribute to quarterly and annual tax provision processes, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax balances, and related disclosures.
Monitor and interpret tax law changes to assess potential impacts and update compliance processes accordingly.
Research complex federal and state tax issues, documenting conclusions and communicating recommendations to leadership.
Maintain and update internal controls and documentation supporting tax positions, including reserve calculations under ASC 740 (FIN 48).
Support audits and inquiries from taxing authorities by preparing responses, providing schedules, and coordinating with external advisors as needed.
Assist with monthly transfer pricing processes, including recording journal entries and reviewing intercompany transactions.
Utilize tax technology and reporting tools to streamline compliance, reporting, and data analysis activities.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the tax function.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
3–5 years of corporate tax experience, preferably with both compliance and provision responsibilities.
Strong technical knowledge of income and franchise tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Proficiency with tax software and ERP systems; experience with data analytics tools a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities and a collaborative approach.
