The MD programme of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is conducted in Springhill campus for the preclinical phase, and years 3, 4, and 5. The qualifications are based on the professional degrees such as MRCP, FRCS, or MMed. Phd is of course a welcome qualification. This position requires commitment to teaching, research & scholarly activities and contribution to programme administration and management. Responsibilities
Planning and teaching courses in line with FMHS’s Learning Teaching and Assessment strategy, Academic Framework and quality requirements Lecturing/teaching/assessing within specialist area, at all levels and evaluating teaching and learning practice Contributing to programme / module development and curriculum review. Working with colleagues to support a strong academic programme identity Producing teaching materials informed by current research that motivate and inspire student learning Making appropriate use of technology to support learning and teaching, e.g. CN Netowrk and LMS Supervising and providing support and guidance for student learning activities, such as PBL, Clinical Skills, seminar, workshop, clinical teaching, hospitals, clinics, BST etc Marking/assessing assignments and examinations and providing timely and constructive feedback to students Responding to student feedback and taking action on this Providing academic support and guidance for students Participating in ongoing professional development and evaluation of practice relating to learning, teaching and assessment in line with qualifications and experience, changes in subject/discipline, pedagogic development and innovation in learning technology.This includes participating in the improvement of teaching through theUniversity’s observation and student evaluation. Appropriate professional development support for teaching and learning matched to individual’s qualifications and experience. To contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of research strategies which align with the University’s overarching research strategy and which will benefit the Faculty and the University in the short, medium and long term. To make a contribution to achieving the academic objectives in the School through teaching, research activities. Requirements
The applicants must be Malaysian and registered with MalaysianMedical Council (MMC). Candidate must have a recognized MBBS & Masters degree. Candidates with PhD will have an added advantage. Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and abilities. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, possess a mature attitude and a good team player. To contribute in research and publications.
