SCCC Research Associate 3

supports research activities under the supervision of a principal investigator, program director, or their designee. This role involves designing and conducting research focused on developing novel experimental therapies for human malignancies. The incumbent collaborates with scientists within the University of Miami and externally, works as part of a team, and maintains laboratory equipment, protocols, and supplies. Primary Responsibilities include: Contributing to research activities by collecting, analyzing data, and maintaining databases. Understanding and interpreting research protocols and procedures. Participating in publishing significant results. Enhancing expertise through ongoing education, training, and research. Staying informed about relevant research findings. Ensuring research is conducted according to good practice and guidelines. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Managing daily operations and procedures for research projects. Assisting with ordering, purchasing, and maintaining reagents and supplies. Maintaining biosafety, animal care protocols, and safety records. Performing standard laboratory techniques and developing new procedures. Documenting and organizing experimental results for publications and presentations. Keeping up with current literature and technical methods. Adhering to university policies and safeguarding assets. Note:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize under pressure. Discretion in handling confidential information. Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed. Commitment to university values. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
