Overview
The Department of Accounting at the Anderson School of Management is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Professor in Accounting to begin August 2026, depending on funding approval. The Anderson School of Management is accredited by AACSB International and is among the programs worldwide to attain both an Accounting and Business Accreditation. We offer a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with 8 concentrations, along with specialized Master’s degrees in Accounting, Project Management, and Cybersecurity & Analytics, and a versatile MBA with 11 tracks plus an Executive MBA for working professionals. With over 21,000 alumni, Anderson emphasizes collaborative student interaction, active adult learning, team experiences, and scholarship across methodologies and subjects. New Mexico’s rich cultural heritage is reflected in our community and university mission. Teaching responsibilities for this position include undergraduate and graduate courses in tax. The Accounting faculty supports existing BBA, MACCT, and MBA programs including an online tax certification. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in tax. Support the existing BBA, MACCT, and MBA programs including an online tax certification. Collaborate with faculty to maintain and strengthen the accounting program and its ties to the profession. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an earned doctorate or have a strong prospect for completing a doctorate in Accounting or a closely related field by August 2026. Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of or promise of a significant program of research and scholarship Evidence of excellence or promise of achieving excellence in teaching tax core and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the university’s mission to serve local and global communities Application Instructions
