The University of Florida Department of Psychiatry seeks a dedicated Research Administrator III to support groundbreaking mental health research that improves lives in our community and beyond. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to scientific discovery while developing your career in academic research administration. Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing the development and preparation of grant/contract applications. Ensure all department proposals are routed for department approval, liaising with the College of Medicine, other Colleges and the Division of Sponsored Programs. Assist in completing university and agency forms; review all grant applications prior to submission, ensuring that all technical requirements of the funding agency are complete, accurate, and appropriately formatted. Work directly with the funding agency, collaborating UF departments or collaborating institution’s administrators, and assist faculty and residents in identifying possible funding sources for their research programs. Negotiate research contracts. Partner with the department’s website manager for publishing of the department’s research web page and perform other related duties as assigned. Work in and set up grant funding and awards in UFIRST. Ensure all budgetary, commitment, and compliance requirements are followed. Confer with investigators and campus administrators to ensure that any changes or corrections are processed as needed. Analyze expenses, develop cost projections, and provide financial tracking and fiscal control to fulfill university and sponsor reporting requirements. Serve as a liaison between research faculty and UF core offices, as well as consortium sites, to facilitate a close working relationship for the duration of the award or agreement. Administration Research

Promotes and facilitates both clinical and basic science research for the Department of Psychiatry in conjunction with College of Medicine and the Division of Sponsored Research. Provides expertise and advice to faculty and department and college administrators regarding funding policies, rules, and regulations. Provides faculty information on sources of grant funding through federal, state, and private sector organizations/agencies. Advises faculty on the long-term financial viability of individual sponsored projects. Prepares special reports as requested or required of the department Chair and/or Director. Maintain and facilitate agenda, communication, and follow up for Research Leadership Meetings with Department Chair, Director and Division Chiefs. Provide the research leadership with quarterly new proposal/award reports, and work to develop or revise department policies that relate to research. Schedule quarterly meetings with research faculty to review all sources of funding. Coordinate annual review of research space report for department review and approval. Review communications from NIH and other federal and state agencies to share with research faculty and staff. Liaison with administrative and fiscal teams to support all research faculty and staff. Supervision and General Administrative Responsibilities

Supervises Fiscal II and Research Administrator II staff. Meets regularly with them, monitors performance, provides help and feedback as needed. Provides or arranges for training and cross-training and completes performance appraisals. $72,000 - $77,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree; Experience with Grants and grant writing. Previous research experience. Knowledge of publishing, negotiating research contracts and working with the Internal Review Board. Post award experience and/or finance and accounting experience preferred. Proficiency with research databases and statistical software. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
