Overview

We are looking for a

Senior PHP Back-end Developer

to join our experienced engineering team, working on core products and services in the fast-paced fintech and crypto industry. This is a hands-on role focused on developing scalable back-end solutions, designing APIs, contributing to microservices architecture, and maintaining high code quality across our backend systems. As part of a collaborative environment with developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and business analysts, you’ll work on both greenfield projects and legacy refactoring. You will have the freedom to shape architecture, contribute best practices, and bring real impact to a product used by thousands of customers globally. This role is ideal for a sharp, motivated engineer who combines excellent PHP/Symfony skills with strong architectural thinking, a commitment to clean code, and the drive to continuously learn and share knowledge. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and scalable PHP back-end components (Symfony 6/7) Collaborate with PMs, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features Improve and evolve the service-oriented architecture and microservices landscape Refactor legacy code to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability Conduct and enforce thorough code reviews, unit and integration test coverage Participate in architectural discussions and bring your proposals to the architecture board Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues Support the CI/CD process and production releases Take part in on-call rotations Document technical designs and share knowledge across the team Mentor junior developers (especially for those with Team Lead ambitions) Technical Experience

5+ years

of experience in PHP development, with

2+ years

specifically using

Symfony 6/7 Solid understanding of

OOP ,

DDD , and design patterns Strong experience with

API development , including secure RESTful services and iframe data exchange Deep knowledge of

relational databases

(e.g., MariaDB) and

NoSQL

(e.g., Redis) Hands-on experience with

message brokers

like RabbitMQ Knowledge of

microservices architecture

and modular system design Familiarity with

unit and integration testing , test coverage, and clean code standards Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)

Experience with: AWS services (Aurora, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS) Terraform, Docker, GitLab CI, Serverless architecture Payment integrations (e.g., PayPal, card processing gateways) High-traffic websites (10K+ daily users) Crypto/blockchain technologies DevOps practices and CI/CD automation Working with LLMs Go (or interest in learning Go) Experience in

secure coding practices , including: CORS, CSRF, XSS, SQL injection, IDOR prevention Configuration and secrets management CI security practices and dependency vulnerability management Additional Competencies
