Landscaping Crew Lead . This person will lead and work alongside a team of 3-4 landscapers, responsible for the groundskeeping maintenance and projects for both commercial and high-end residential homes. This position reports to the Landscape Superintendent. The Landscaping Crew Lead needs to be committed to exceptional work, care about details others might not notice, take pride in being reliable, foster collaboration, and demonstrate “The Segale Way” values through their words and actions. Employees work on Segale owned properties and take pride in making Segale spaces beautiful. Regardless of role or tenure, everyone at Segale chips in to get-it-done with a sense of humor and humility. In addition to the tasks listed below, everyone is expected to complete additional duties as needed and assigned. Assist landscape crew in completing required tasks: Landscape maintenance and general lawn care: mowing, weeding, edging, fertilizing, pruning, seeding, planting, irrigation, groundskeeping, and garden bed upkeep. Operate a wide variety of tools and equipment with commitment to safety, including properly cleaning, storing, and maintaining a variety of tools and equipment. Remove debris, trash, and litter from facilities and outdoor spaces. Work on a variety of landscape construction projects and being adaptable to day-to-day changes in work assignments and location. Complete work with a keen eye to detail and are always looking for ways to keep Segale properties looking their best. Lead the landscape crew: Set pace and motivate team to work with a sense of urgency without sacrificing quality of work. Conduct before and after inspection of sites to identify successes and follow-up needed. Provide on-the-job training to build and reinforce skills as they are needed. Reinforce Segale’s culture of safety, including the use of PPE. Reinforce the high standards, positive, and productive work environment required of everyone at Segale. Effective communicator with the ability to work with a diverse group of people to achieve a common goal. Requirements: Education, Experience High School diploma or equivalent. Strong knowledge of local plants and their proper planting, care, and pruning. 5+ years of commercial or high-end residential landscaping, including at least 1-2 years of overseeing other landscape crew members. Certificates, Licenses Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a safe driving record. For insurance purposes, preference will be given to candidates at least 25 years of age. Workplace Safety Punctual and reliable daily attendance and remaining alert throughout shift. Able to perform physically demanding daily work in various weather conditions. This includes lifting to 50 pounds, bending, turning, pushing, and pulling without limitations. After receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidate must complete a background check, have safe driving record verified, and pass preemployment drug and alcohol screen. Location/Work Schedule: The position is based out of our main office in Tukwila, WA. Regular schedule is Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (generally 6:00 AM -2:30 PM), with occasional overtime. We work as a team. Punctuality and reliability is required. What We Offer: $27-$33 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. 100% paid employee medical/vision and dental insurance. 50% paid family coverage. After one year of service, employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) and receive a matching contribution equal to 100% of the first 4% of pay contributed. Paid Time Off (PTO), eight paid holidays, and paid office closure the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, prorated for first year based on date of hire. Use of company vehicle, tools and equipment, and cell phone allowance. On-site workout facility with locker room and showers.
