INGENIA Therapeutics Inc. is a biotech startup company located in the LlNX building in Watertown, MA specializing in microvasculature healing. We strive to develop antibody-based therapeutics across multiple disease areas including renal, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases.
Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Research Associate, preferentially experienced in endothelial cell biology, to drive our discovery research and support our platform and pipeline. The successful candidate will independently design and execute in-vitro experiments, and present results internally and externally. Applicants should be outstanding team members and effectively communicate across internal multi-disciplinary teams, as well as with external collaborators and CROs. The candidate will need to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, data-driven, and results-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Independently design and execute advanced cell-based and biochemical assays for screening and optimization of drug candidates.
Perform and optimize biochemical assays such as qPCR, ELISA, reporter and signaling assays, IHC, IF.
Culture of immortalized and primary cells. Experience culturing primary endothelial cells is preferred, but not required.
Process and analyze tissue samples from in-vivo studies.
Analyze data utilizing Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism.
Maintain accurate and complete electronic laboratory notebooks in accordance with INGENIA’s policy.
Establish & update SOP documentation for all relevant processes.
Prepare & present research reports.
Provide hands-on mentorship to junior staff.
Continuously seek and evaluate techniques and opportunities that will improve quality, efficiency or scalability of workflow.
Additional preferred experience :
Flow cytometry
Small rodent handling and necropsy
Experience in cardiovascular/renal biology
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a biological science or related degree (e.g. Immunology, cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biotechnology).
3+ (MS) or 5+ (BS) years of experience in industry or academia.
Experience developing/optimizing cell-based assays.
Expertise running mid- to high-throughput assays across multiple cell types with a focus on endothelial and epithelial cells.
Experience with neuronal cell culture preferred.
Ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas and biology, multitasking lab-based activities.
Proficiency in Prism, Microsoft and electronic laboratory notebook compliance required.
Must have strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
