Signify Bio
Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate in vivo pharmacology
Signify Bio, Dallas, Texas, United States, 75215
Research Associate/Senior Research Associate in vivo pharmacology
Signify Bio is a pioneering early-stage RNA/LNP biotechnology company harnessing the human body for the production of in situ protein therapeutics. We aim to create personalized medicines for all by combining the promise of signal peptide engineered control with the speed and power of mRNA encoded design. With labs in Dallas, TX, we are building three proprietary and novel platforms encompassing both nucleic acid payloads and non-viral delivery systems designed to control the production, secretion and localization of protein therapeutics directly within the human body.
Role Description
We are adding a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate (non-PhD) to our Translational Sciences team to execute in vivo pharmacology and molecular biology studies. Primary responsibility will be conducting in vivo studies to identify and progress lead formulations towards the clinic. This role involves handling and dosing rodents, collecting samples for downstream biochemical assessments, execution of biochemical assessments, and maintaining accurate records to support PK/PD, efficacy, and safety in vivo and molecular biology studies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design and perform in vivo pharmacology studies in rodent models, including dosing (IV, IP, SC, IM) and tissue collection in mice and rats
Collect and process biological samples (blood, liver, muscle, and other organs) for downstream analysis
Design, perform and analyze molecular biology experiments, including ELISA, WB, QPCR
Maintain accurate records of experiments, protocols, and data in electronic lab notebooks (ELN)
Collaborate daily with cross‑functional teams, including Biology and Formulations
Ensure compliance with IACUC protocols and maintain high standards of animal welfare
Qualifications
BS/MS in Life Sciences, including Pharmacology, Immunology, Biology, or a related field with 2‑5+ years of in vivo research experience (industry experience preferred)
Hands‑on experience with rodent (rat and mouse) handling, dosing techniques, in‑life and terminal blood collection, and necropsy
Proficiency with i.v., s.c., and i.m. injections and blood collection by various methods
Proficiency with molecular biology techniques and methods, including ELISA, WB, QPCR
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad Prism
Highly adaptable and capable of adjusting to shifting priorities
Able to work in a fast‑paced and highly collaborative environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Physical Requirements This lab-based position requires the ability to stand for extended periods as well as occasional need to reach, bend, stoop, and climb stairs. Working with rodent cages may require working in an uncomfortable physical position briefly in order to change or clean cages. Lifting requirement may occasionally be up to approximately 25 lbs. Pushing/pulling carts or cage racks may be required. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are needed to handle small animals.
Position involves regular exposure to biological materials such as animal allergens and requires regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (gown, mask, gloves) and strict compliance with Environmental Health & Safety guidelines.
Sorry, no relocation assistance or immigration sponsorship is available for this position.
