Central Market is seeking individuals with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to maximize sales and provide an exceptional shopping experience. The Sales Manager will oversee the entire operation of the assigned department and its financial performance. This position reports to a Director. Responsibilities
Use independent judgment to make employment-related and business decisions, including product and department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or resolving partner-related matters. Oversee department operations to ensure excellent product quality and customer service. Develop and lead a retail sales team committed to high-level customer service. Ensure product quality and in-stock conditions are maintained for customer delivery. Promote sales through special events within the store and community. Work with sales personnel to generate new business and maintain client relations. Merchandise departments to maximize sales. Promote services and products to enhance sales. Maintain high product knowledge standards. Manage product ordering and inventory controls. Ensure compliance with government and company regulations on product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation. Maintain relationships with multiple vendors. Work towards departmental budgets aligned with store goals. Monitor and control product, labor, and overhead expenses. Ensure high standards of product quality and presentation. Collaborate with other department managers and the chef team to meet objectives. Conduct employment interviews, performance evaluations, and gather partner feedback. Train and develop partners. Prepare departmental schedules. Provide exceptional customer service. Requirements
Proven leadership experience in a catering environment. Ability to develop and deliver sound recommendations. Passion for food and selling. Attention to detail. Computer proficiency. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Valuing diversity. Ability to handle stressful situations. Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills. Ability to prioritize, delegate, and handle multiple tasks. Proven team development skills.
