The Bouve College of Health Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeastern University, Boston. The Thakur Lab specializes in developing GPCR (cannabinoid receptors 1 and 2) allosteric modulators and ligand-gated ion channels for treating diseases such as neuropathic pain, glaucoma, substance use disorder, and epilepsy. Responsibilities
The candidate will execute medicinal chemistry tasks including designing, synthesizing, and optimizing molecules targeting GPCRs and ion channels. Responsibilities include biochemical and ADME/PK studies, SAR hypothesis generation, target design, synthetic chemistry, troubleshooting, manuscript and patent submissions, grant writing, seminars, mentoring, and lab management. Qualifications
Seeking a highly motivated Medicinal Chemist with a Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry and 1-3 years of relevant research experience. Must have knowledge of GPCR and LGIC signaling, data analysis, ADME, LC-MS, and strong communication skills. Experience with GPCR signaling assays, electrophysiology, ADME/PK, and computational drug discovery is a plus. A strong publication record is preferred. Position Type
