Position Overview The Manufacturing Engineer – Extrusion is a vital contributor to our NPI Engineering team. This role drives extrusion NPI activities from development through production implementation, ensuring smooth product transitions and optimized manufacturing capabilities. You will directly impact safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead extrusion NPI activities from concept to production.
Establish and maintain labor standards to monitor machine and labor performance.
Ensure product and process capability through analytical methods and root cause corrective actions.
Troubleshoot production challenges, drive productivity improvements, and eliminate waste.
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Collaborate across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability.
Provide engineering guidance on capital expenditures and equipment needs.
Forecast labor and equipment capacity while leading cost reduction initiatives.
Comply with ITAR regulations (must be a U.S. person).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
5+ years of relevant experience with rubber extrusion.
Demonstrated knowledge in extrusion processes and technology.
Experience in rubber compounding, testing, and mixing.
Familiarity with compression/transfer molding, injection molding, and tool design.
Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma, and advanced problem-solving.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft GP MRP, and CAD.
