Senior SCADA Project Engineer

to lead and execute SCADA systems integration across Utility and Distributed Generation (DG) Solar, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Hybrid Power Plants. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical execution, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle and technical details. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership : Lead the technical implementation of SCADA systems across multiple renewable energy projects with diverse technologies. System Oversight : Understand project-specific elements including interconnection, substation, PV/BESS/Wind architectures; collaborate with vendors and integrators. Documentation & Scope Management : Review exhibits and proposals; develop detailed Scopes of Work (SOW) for bids, defining responsibilities and scope gaps. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with Telecom, IT, and OT teams to ensure secure, reliable networking and connectivity. Engineering Integration : Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of SCADA and metering systems. Design Review : Approve design packages at all stages, including BOMs, device spreadsheets, diagrams, and point lists. Control Logic Development : Create and review control logic for MW curtailment, voltage/frequency control, substation controls, and hybrid systems. Commissioning & Testing : Oversee installation, integration, commissioning, and testing activities. Regulatory Compliance : Support NERC testing requirements like MOD-25, MOD-26, and MOD-27. Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of SCADA design and testing experience. Strong power systems engineering background focused on SCADA. Proficiency with SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, GE Cimplicity, Wonderware, etc.) and experience outside renewables is valued. Knowledge of SCADA telemetry/control requirements across ISOs like CAISO, NYISO, PJM, MISO, ERCOT. Experience with communication protocols: MODBUS, DNP3.0, OPC, TCP/IP, Serial, Radio. Familiarity with substation and array devices: RTACs, relays, meters, inverters, trackers, BESS, RTUs. Understanding of NERC compliance from a SCADA perspective. Proven project management and leadership skills. Strong communication skills and ability to troubleshoot models like PSCAD and RTDS. Knowledge of PID control algorithms and adaptive tuning methods.
