Director, Infection Prevention & Control
The Director of Infection Prevention and Control provides leadership, direction, scientific knowledge, and expertise in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Infection Prevention and Control Program. PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position drives the operation of the Infection Prevention and Control Program and Services to ensure patient safety, alignment with strategic goals, and compliance with State and Federal regulatory and accreditation mandates. Supervision: Vice President Quality and Patient Safety, and direct supervision of Manager, Infection Prevention and Control. Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required Minimum of 7 years of acute clinical experience, 5 of which are in infection prevention and control More than 5 years of progressive administrative leadership experience in infection prevention, surveillance, control, and improvement At least 2 years of experience using electronic data systems and data analysis in support of infection prevention, control, and improvement activities Knowledge/Skills
Expert knowledge of infection surveillance, prevention and control practices, processes, systems, standards, and regulations Sophisticated knowledge of infection-related quality metrics Demonstrates a high level of understanding of infection data reporting requirements Knowledge of epidemiologic methods and biostatistics Demonstrates knowledge in fundamental quality improvement theories and application of quality improvement tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationship skills Location: Camden, NJ. **Active RN license no longer required**
