Job Summary: EARLY MORNING HOURS 5am till 1:30pm
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Substance Use Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Use Counselor, you will provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. Your role will involve assessing clients' needs, developing treatment plans, and facilitating group therapy sessions. In addition, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
Excellent communication and active listening skills
Empathy and compassion in dealing with clients
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments to gather background information and determine clients' needs
Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs
Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions
Provide education on the effects of substance abuse and available treatment options
Assist clients in developing coping skills and relapse prevention strategies
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as psychologists and psychiatrists, to ensure holistic care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with regulations
Stay informed about emerging research and best practices in substance abuse treatment
Participate in regular supervision and continuing education activities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
Ability to establish rapport with clients and create a therapeutic environment
Strong assessment and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and caseloads
Knowledge of community resources and referral processes
