we are currently hiring for the role of:

Key Account Manager – Defense Market .

Location: Rohnert Park, California, USA • Type: Permanent contract • Start: As soon as possible

The Key Account Manager – Defense Market is responsible for managing and growing key accounts within the U.S. defense market. This role will proactively identify new business opportunities, develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans, and utilize key account management methodologies to maximize customer satisfaction and revenue growth. The role will leverage a network of representatives, distributors, and direct sales resources to meet and exceed budget goals.

Account Management & Development

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned defense key accounts in the U.S.

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within each account.

Develop account plans that identify growth opportunities, risks, and action items.

Utilize Miller Heiman or similar key account management methodologies to structure and execute account strategies.

New Business Development

Proactively research, identify, and qualify new key account opportunities within the defense market.

Develop and implement strategies to prospect and secure new business, including bid tracking and pipeline management.

Leverage industry knowledge to anticipate customer needs and position the company as a preferred partner.

Sales & Marketing Strategy

Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to create and execute strategic plans tailored to the defense market.

Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to inform product positioning and value propositions.

Identify and participate in relevant defense industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and generate leads.

Performance & Budget Management

Develop and achieve annual sales budget goals for assigned accounts and new business targets.

Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and CRM updates.

Track progress against targets and adjust strategies as needed to ensure goals are met or exceeded.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, customer service) to ensure customer requirements are met.

Utilize the network of reps, distributors, and direct sales teams to expand market coverage and penetration.

Provide regular updates to management on account status, market conditions, and opportunities.

Travel

Travel up to 50% within the U.S. to meet with customers, attend events, and support business development initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree or Technical degree preferred plus a minimum five (5) years of relevant sales experience; experience in value-add solutions selling within Medical, Industrial, and Military market segments is a plus

Equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirement.

Veteran or military background preferred

Technical aptitude in electro-mechanical products working in design centers to win print position

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow for assigned key accounts

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work with all levels of management

Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound business decisions

Working knowledge of Microsoft products
