Brady Martz
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the administration and processing of payroll for clients. This position will add new hires, update current employees, and process terminated employees as part of the payroll process, as well as prepare payroll-related reports.
Responsibilities
Work closely with assigned clients to assess general payroll needs.
Prepare reports, returns, and other documents as required, including payroll reports, year-end tax forms, and other client-specific reports.
Administer and process payroll for clients, including updating payroll systems with new and terminated employee information, pay rates, and deductions; collecting, reviewing, and verifying timesheets; processing and completing the payroll cycle; direct deposit input; preparing payroll tax deposits; and issuing W2s.
Handle in-house payroll processing and download/file payroll returns.
Set up new hires and communicate with employees accordingly.
Coordinate with client support for payroll agency correspondence matters.
Manage garnishments, benefit plan obligations, and other required reporting to Accounts Payable.
Download payroll transactions if processed by a third party.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
At least 2 years of payroll experience.
Understanding of payroll laws and guidelines.
Strong technology skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team player with innovative thinking.
