Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Policy Development: Implements and oversees HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements, and supports strategic goals and business objectives of the distribution center and the broader organization.
Team Member Relations and Conflict Resolution: Serves as a trusted advisor on team member relations issues, including conflict resolution and corrective actions; oversees investigation processes and promotes a positive relationship between leadership and team members; makes recommendations on hiring, disciplinary actions, and separations; acts as an ambassador for BJ’s culture.
Recruitment and Talent Management: Participates in recruitment processes, including interviewing and onboarding; develops retention strategies to meet staffing demands; collaborates with leadership on hiring decisions; partners with third-party organizations to engage temporary workers as needed.
Compensation and Benefits Administration: Oversees new hire orientation and benefits open enrollment, ensures access to benefits; manages timely payroll processing and resolves payroll issues.
Performance Management and Training: Oversees performance appraisal systems, ensures timely merit increases, guides team member development, coordinates training programs, and ensures training aligns with goals.
HR Metrics and KPIs: Drives KPIs related to engagement, retention, productivity, and efficiency; analyzes metrics to improve performance and reduce turnover.
Coaching & Leadership Development: Provides coaching, career development, and succession planning; mentors HR staff in best practices; partners with leadership to identify high-potential talent and implement development programs.
Engagement and Communication: Fosters open communication with leadership and team members; coordinates HR-related information between the DC and the Club Support Center; educates on policies, procedures, and compliance.
Additional Responsibilities: Ensures policy and legal compliance across HR practices; contributes to continuous improvement; performs other duties as assigned; regular, predictable attendance is essential; ability to work in a warehouse environment with PPE as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HR-related role within supply chain.
Strong communication skills, proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word; familiarity with HR and payroll systems.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods.
Up to 50% travel may be required; flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.
Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC, including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.).
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position starts from $76,000.00.
