Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources Leave Specialist. Franklin County, OH. Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services – working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. Our services are collaborative and personalized for the individual. Responsibilities
Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensure employees understand responsibilities and documentation/notice required to qualify for and take leave. Manage the FMLA leave administration process from initial notice to return to work, including paperwork, eligibility determination, designation of FMLA, medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent/reduced schedule leave. Maintain reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return; relay communication between employees and managers during leave when appropriate. Advise managers and employees on interactions of leave laws with paid time off, workers’ compensation, and short-/long-term disability benefits. Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended leave. Facilitate other leave requests, including accommodation requests under the ADA. Administer other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws. Draft and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with legal requirements and best practice documentation. Preserve the confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files. Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws (FMLA, ADA, state/local laws). Some travel is required within the service area. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of leave requirements and protections under the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. Ability to use appropriate databases, spreadsheets, and other software. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment. State of Ohio Driver’s License. Education
High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree in human resources or a relevant field required. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred. Two years of FMLA/ADA administration required. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration is a plus. Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Benefits
