Leidos is searching for a
Senior Network Architect
with extensive expertise to lead large-scale network migrations and operations for a prominent DOD contract. The I3TS program is dedicated to delivering comprehensive IT services, enabling DTRA's Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD) to modernize and enhance IT service delivery to diverse mission partners both domestically and internationally. As the Network Architect, you will spearhead the design of cutting-edge networking solutions for DTRA. Your key responsibilities include defining technical requirements, conducting feasibility studies, piloting new projects, and implementing robust network solutions. You will be essential in monitoring and troubleshooting network outages and preventative strategies. Experience with SD-WAN solutions and transitioning from non-SDWAN to SD-WAN is crucial, along with expertise in Cloud-native SDN, Software Defined Access, and EVPN for on-premise applications, particularly in a DevSecOps environment. Primary Responsibilities: Design and plan secure network solutions that unify connectivity services across the enterprise. Create secure wide area connectivity solutions encompassing underlay, overlay, and COI transport designs that ensure optimal performance, quality of service, and security. Develop secure access solutions that leverage both wired and wireless technologies while integrating industry standards and preparing implementation and transition plans. Incorporate capacity planning within the overall architecture of network and security stacks. Analyze and identify network optimization strategies and techniques to meet performance and capacity specifications. Assess legacy service paths and strategize the design of new enterprise capabilities ensuring security and sustainability. Assist in the development of IP addressing schemes for IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Collaborate with information assurance teams to ensure compliance with DoD standards, aiding in the provision of accreditation artifacts. Basic Qualifications: At least a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 12-15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience. Additional applicable experience may substitute for a degree. Possession of a network certification such as CCNP (or equivalent; CCIE preferred). Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) required prior to start. Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, Dual Stack IPv4/IPv6, IPSec, VPN, and Firewall micro-segmentation. Proficient in two or more networking technologies from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, Brocade, and Fortinet. Experience with SD-WAN solutions, preferably Dell Versa. Some familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud networking. Experience with AAA servers such as Cisco ISE or Aruba Clearpass. Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Wireless systems. Familiar with Type 1 encryptors. Adept at creating logical or physical designs using tools like Visio or Gliffy. Skilled in conducting technical troubleshooting. Experience performing site surveys and analyzing data from these surveys. Proven ability to create or execute migration plans for services or applications. Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing extensive network infrastructures. Team-oriented mindset for troubleshooting complex networking issues. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including drafting technical documentation and engaging with senior leadership. Ability to present designs and proposals effectively to stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Python scripting, and CI/CD practices. Knowledge of enterprise network management tools such as SolarWinds and Cisco ISE. Hands-on experience with WAN, LAN, Dual Stack IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, EVPN, and SD-WAN. Understanding of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) requirements. Expertise in the design and enhancement of complex, large-scale enterprise networks. In-depth knowledge of DoD security standards for network infrastructure. Experience in hardening network infrastructures, including DoD STIG implementation. Familiarity with business applications like Power BI and SharePoint. Experience leading teams of engineers of varying expertise levels.
