Position Overview
The Enterprise Architect will define and govern technology standards, promote modernization initiatives, and ensure interoperability across systems. This role bridges business strategy and technology execution by providing architectural leadership, guidance, and oversight across projects and organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, publish, and maintain enterprise reference architectures and technology standards. Lead modernization planning efforts to transition legacy systems to cloud-native or hybrid architectures. Architect and oversee integrations with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Appian, and Azure. Design secure, scalable cloud solutions aligned with organizational security frameworks, federal regulations, and industry best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with business goals and user needs. Provide technical guidance and oversight to development teams and project managers. Define and promote data interoperability strategies across multiple systems while ensuring compliance with record retention and protection policies. Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve service delivery, reporting, and efficiency. Maintain comprehensive documentation, roadmaps, and architectural standards. Communicate complex technical strategies clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Support architecture governance by reviewing and validating solution architectures for compliance with enterprise policies. Develop business capability models and ensure technology roadmaps align with strategic goals and regulatory objectives. Collaborate across business, data, application, and technical domains to deliver holistic enterprise solutions. Influence technology direction without direct authority, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and project teams.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
Six (6) years of professional information technology experience and a bachelor's degree, or Ten (10) years of professional information technology experience, or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Required Experience
Candidates must demonstrate experience in:
Application development and modernization initiatives. Developing and maintaining enterprise reference architectures and technology standards. API design and secure system integrations. Cloud solution architecture, preferably within Microsoft Azure. Creating and executing technology roadmaps that align with business objectives. Translating complex technical concepts into actionable guidance for diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications:
TOGAF 9.x Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Salesforce Certified Application Architect
Experience in public-sector or regulated IT environments. Familiarity with low-code platforms, particularly Appian (case management, workflows, regulatory systems). Experience with Salesforce, geospatial systems, or regulatory data standards.
